Queen City Classic Volleyball Tournament

 

January 31st – February 1st, 2015

Charlotte Convention Center, 501 South College Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

All age divisions will compete under one roof.
- There are numerous hotels, restaurants, museums and other attractions within walking distance.
- Open and club divisions for ages 13-18.
- 12 and under teams may compete in the 13s division.

Playing times and court assignments will be available at www.advancedeventsystems.com. These will be posted on Thursday, the week of the tournament.

All divisions will play pool play on Saturday with single elimination playoffs on Sunday. Final matches are scheduled to begin around 5:00 PM on Sunday. If everything remains on schedule, the tournament should conclude around 6:30 PM Sunday.

Food, Beverages and Chairs:
No outside food, drinks, coolers, tables or chairs are permitted inside the convention center. Water will be supplied for players and coaches only at stations throughout the playing area. Concessions will be available in the playing area. There is a food court in the main concourse which includes Bojangles, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Buon Cibo (pizza, paninis and salads) and Starbucks.

Courtside seating will be provided for spectators during matches. We ask, as a courtesy, that you leave these seats open for spectators of the teams who are playing at the time.

Emergency Personnel and Medical Releases:
We will have Emergency Medical Technicians on site throughout the event. The EMT office is located in the corridor outside the playing area. We will also have athletic trainers available for taping purposes stationed near the championship desk. All coaches are required to have a Medical Release Form for each player with them at all times.

Exhibitor Displays:
Vendors will be located in the play area and will be open during play time.

Tournament T-shirts:
You can pre-order the Official 2015 Queen City Classic T-shirts and Hoodies. We will post the link for orders here soon. The deadline for pre-orders is January 12th. We now have short and long sleeve t-shirts and hoodies. We will have a very limited quantity of these at the tournament so pre-ordering will guarantee you get the sizes and colors that you want.

Pre-ordered items will not be shipped. They will be available for pick up in the main concourse by the College Street entrance Friday 4:00-8:00 PM and Saturday 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM. If you miss the deadline for pre-ordering, we will have a limited supply available in the Volleyball Anarchy vendor booth.

Spectator Wristbands:
You can pre-order your spectator wristbands. We will post the link for orders here soon. Everyone over the age of five must wear a wristband to enter the playing area. All pre-ordered wristbands can be picked up in the main concourse by the College Street entrance Friday 4:00-8:00 PM and Saturday 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM. To avoid long lines Saturday morning, we strongly suggest that you pick up wristbands on Friday.

Please note that the North Carolina Department of Revenue requires us to pay 7.25% sales tax on spectator wristbands. Therefore, the price for the wristband on the website is $13.99. When you checkout, the sales tax will be added to bring your total to $15.00.

One-day wristbands can be purchased at the door for $9.00 and are good for the day of purchase only. Full event wristbands can be purchased at the door for $15.00. Note: Players and staff on team rosters receive their wristbands at team check-in. These are included in their team entry fee Parking: There is a map under the “Where to Stay” tab that shows some parking lot choices around the convention center. Parking is the responsibility of attendees. The tournament cannot validate any parking passes.

Recruiting Showcase:
Queen City Classic will hold a college recruiting showcase on Friday January 30th from 6:30-8:30 PM. Players will begin warm-up at 6:00 PM. Costs to enter is $55.00 and will include a showcase t-shirt. Information on registration will be sent via email and posted on the QCC website in early January.
